The last of the Christmas sewing for Jack and Jill.
A sweet little jon jon in a retro-modern dot and slash print.
I really like this fabric personally, but I do realize that it may be pushing it for the town I live in. The jon jon itself is not a stretch, its just the fabric I used is a little more funky than what most expect in a jon jon but, I love it.
It makes me think of the 1950's for some reason, but I also see this in a very modern way.
Sizes 18 months, and 2T, but can be made in other sizes if requested.

I am certain that I have mentioned my love of fabric before, here is another example of such love.
I have had this gnome fabric for almost three years. I have held onto it simply because I didn't want to use it all, which is so silly. To not use something you love (if love can be used towards fabric) is to not fully enjoy it.
So I wanted to spread the love, one little man at a time.
Long sleeved shirt and elastic waisted pant.
Gnome appliqued onto a red and white checked background, appliqued onto a long sleeved, 100% cotton shirt.
A little fellow on the back to be a pocket for all sorts of treasures.
I made this in sizes 2, 3 & 4, ( at jack and jill)
but can be made in a 12-18 month all the way to a size 5/6, just email or call me.
This is a shirt I had made last year and had a pretty good response to it.
Sizes 2, 3, and 4, 100% cotton, long sleeved pink shirt.

A little bit of a different version of the peasant dress, that I had made earlier.
A wider belt, that is reversible depending on your mood.
And loops for the belt on each side.
Sizes 2-6 available at Jack and Jill.
(shipping is available as well.)
Little girl with painted on mustache for "mustache monday" is optional.

Christmas in October you say?
( ruffle sleeves, and hem, with a belt that can either be at the empire seam, or around the waist)
Yep. I did it. I made a Christmas dress in October.
One because Annmarie (of jack and jill) asked me to for and upcoming advertisement.
And two, because those oh so cute fabrics have been glaring at me for quite some time now.
I had to just lay my hands on them, and listen to what they were saying to me about their future. This is just a glimpse, Im still waiting on one more fabric to find its way to my house before the marathon of sewing begins.

Jump Rope Dress
I have been waiting and waiting for this pattern to be available for a few months now, its from Oliver + S, one of my favorite pattern makers.
(yes, it was a crazy hair day)
Its one of the more challenging peices I have made, not hard, just more time consuming than I would have thought.
and that is because I tend to make easier patterns, or just "make up " a pattern as I go.
This particular dress, has a placket, which was intimitating to me, especially since 1/3 of the instructions were dedicated to making it alone. However, they were very clear and easy to read, and I was super pleased with the results.
I think next time I would use a different pattern of fabric. I love this corduroy, and I had it already, and since fall is upon us, it seemed appropriate. However some of the detail is lost in the pictures and can only been seen close up. (Placket, sleeve detail and belt loop finishing)
Not to mention that Parkey was totally distracted by a neighbor and just wanted to talk to her instead of smiling. But the dress is so fun and I am super pleased with it, I would love for their to be an adult version of this pattern for myself.

A little more applique.
I am going to be making a few of these also to sell, and I am trying to figure out the best way of display and options. Since they will be custom ordered, I will need a few samples I think, and then fabric choices, as well as having the shirts on hand. Overall it will be a little bit more of an "initial" investment, however I think that these will do well. Any thoughts or suggestions on how to market them?
This was a custom order. I had made a few to sell at Jack and Jill, and apparently hadn't made enough in the larger sizes. I had forgotten to take pictures of the first round, so here it is.
And, yes, these are just like the shirt and skirt, that I had made in the spring, that were featured on the cover of the Knoxville Kids Directory circular.

Cowboy Pants
Lined cowboy pants, soon to be featured at Jack and Jill, but not quite yet.
I know that I've made about 50 trillion things out of this fabric, but I obviously truly love it. I have a hard time finding boy fabric that I would like enough to sew that isn't $15 a yard. So giddy-up!
I will be making a shirt to match as well that is a long sleeved white shirt, with the horse and red check fabric applique. For now, just the pants.

Pears and Stripes
Skirt and shirt for Jack n Jill, $40.
I have had this fabric in my stash for about 6 months, and have been dying to use it. Just waiting for a change in the weather to justify it.
Here are both of the skirts, the one on the left (with the matching shirt) is for sale at Jack n Jill, sizes 2-5. The skirt on the right is the one I made for Parkey, it has a flat front panel, with a gathered elastic back and a ruffle at the bottom, a little more mature look.

Petal Dress
Alright kind blog readers, all 4 of you. I need some constructive criticism or complements.
The honest truth.
(if your not comfortable doing so under your moniker, please use the anonymous comment tab)
I think I like this dress, but because its not the kind of thing I usually make, I'm a little out of my element with this one.
(you can click on each individual picture to see a larger view)
Its a really flowey dress, and a little bo-ho chic, which I am drawn to that style, I'm just not confident about it yet.
So please look at it and give me some feed back.
Thanks for your time and your thoughts.
And for the record, she loves it.

G is for Giselle!!!!!
Sadie Parkers greatest friend at school is a little girl named Giselle.
We have been at VBS this week, and Giselle came with us, and the girls had a blast.
SP thought it would be great on the last day for the two of them to have matching shirts. So that is what we did. It doesn't take much for me to sew, especially if my daughter is wanting to be a part of it. I had wanted to get a picture of the two of them in the shirts, but Rubes was sick and I had to stay at home with her, instead of teach the class. Her mom did call to tell me that Giselle had yet to take the shirt off. The same with SP, I had to wash it while she was sleeping last night.

Bubble

Sewing with friends is always a treat, and an inspiration.
While my time in Greenville was intended to help Rosie with her children and just everyday life while her husband was out of town, we did manage to squeeze in some sewing in the "in between parts" and this is what we came up with.
A bubble for Jillian.
A bubble for Jillian.
A skirt for Chloe.

better late than never
Christina Bonifacio was gracious enough to share some of her recent work with me. This is a client that she has been shooting for quite some time. But the exciting thing is that the client showed up at the shoot with two garments that I had made! Yippee!
Here they are.....
This shirt was a Christmas item I had made , and had at J & J.
(I still have some in storage at my house if your interested)
